Well, it's finally here. Mac OS X 10.5.7 delivers a swag of bug fixes, including many with security implications. There's a corresponding security update for 10.4 Tiger.

Late last week Apple finally released a security update for Mac OS X that includes a patched version of the BIND DNS software. In all, there were a dozen patches released including the potentially serious BIND fix.

The Debian GNU/Linux project has just endured what is probably its worst week on the security front in the 15 years of its existence following the disclosure on May 13 of a serious vulnerability in the distribution's OpenSSL package.
