The biggest debate about big data is who owns it and what they can do with it. The short answer is you don’t own your data, and they can do anything they like with it.
Digital freedoms and rights group, Electronic Frontiers Australia (EFA), has called on the Attorney-General – George Brandis - to cease what it says is his “absurd
war of attrition” with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
The newly-created Office of the Australian Information Commissioner would bring with it an era with much easier access to public sector information and a boon for Gov 2.0 practices, Parliamentary Secretary Kate Lundy said.
