Microsoft OOXML format goes OOPS

Oops... Microsoft’s attempt at getting the ‘Office Open XML’ format ratified as a standard has hit a hurdle, prompting Microsoft to hope that its rejected standard scrapes through in the next vote during February 2008.

What the...? Australia abstains on OOXML vote

Standards Australia has cast an 'abstain' vote on the proposed adoption of Microsoft's Open Office XML as an international standard.

The Massachusetts government has reversed its ban on the use Microsoft's Office Open XML file format by state employees.
