Swedish telecommunications equipment vendor Ericsson is collaborating with Telstra to develop an enterprise solution with an extension into the hybrid cloud space, following a successful 5G edge computing trial with an Australian financial institution in 2019.
Telstra and Ericsson say they've set a new network speed record, achieving peak download speeds of 4.2Gbps on a 5G mmWave data call using 800MHz of spectrum capability.
The 5G Future Forum, a group of global 5G leaders working together to accelerate the delivery of Multi-access Edge Computing-enabled solutions around the world, will release its first technical specifications to its members in the third quarter of 2020.
