What's it all about, Apple, Downloads?

Apple's media event titled Showtime is fast approaching and the whole industry is abuzz with rumours, speculation and supposedly inside information. However, nobody outside of the inner circle really knows whether come September 12, we'll get a movie downloads service, a new iPod video device, an Apple TV set-top box, a new portable combo device that can connect to your TV and stereo system or some subset combination of all of these things.

MySpace music challenge to Apple from outer space

MySpace is a great social networking site for young people. It is also a great place for up and coming music bands who haven't yet been discovered by music labels to market their talents and sell their music to their growing throng of followers. However, talk that MySpace is actually a threat to Apple's iTunes is in the same league as my mother was an alien from outer space.

Is Alexandria the Zune music store?

In its best marketing style, Microsoft has kept people guessing about its so-called "iPod killer" Zune, leaking bits of information at a time. One thing is clear. If Microsoft is to have any chance of success greater than zero pitting Zune against iPod, it needs its own online music store. The question on everyone's lips is does it have one in the pipeline?
