Australian small- and medium-sized businesses have called for government to introduce more small business-friendly policies, including the reduction of red tape, simplification of reporting processes and further business tax cuts.
Finding new staff, dealing with payroll compliance, the ability to dismiss employees and end-of-year paperwork are major problems for small business owners, according to a newly released report which reveals the significant pressures weighing down SMEs in managing their businesses.
Small business owners believe that the company tax rate should be cut for Australia to remain globally competitive, and if the rate was lowered many of the SMEs say they would be more likely to invest the savings back into their business.
