Psystar loses appeal against Apple verdict

Mac cloner Psystar has lost its appeal against a key aspect of the Apple v Psystar decision. Using licence terms to tie the use of software to a particular manufacturer's hardware is not copyright abuse.

Under-licensed small businesses participating in the Business Software Alliance's software licence check won't face claims for damages if they "get legal" as a result, but that's the only undertaking the BSA is prepared to make.

Samsung thwacks Apple back Down Under: Crikey!

After Apple got down and dirty with the legal eagles in Australia and stopping Samsung from releasing its Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet, Samsung certainly protested, but now they've dropped a tidy little lawsuit against Apple in return against several of its oh so shinily crunchy Jobsian iDevices.
