The latest Kantar Worldpanel ComTech stats have arrived, showing growth for iOS in many markets, while Android’s share in the US has fallen for the first time since September 2013.
Apple is on course for a record quarter with its massive iPhone 6 sales, seeing rising sales in the US, Australia, China, the UK and 5 other economies but falling in Japan, with Android’s commanding lead dropping slightly in 5 of the 10 major economies and even Windows Phone growing in 3 economies but steady in Australia and falling in the others.
Kantar’s latest smartphone sales data, over 3 months to Sept 2014, shows 73.9% share for Android in Europe, 15.4% for Apple and Windows Phone at 9.2%, with high demand for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
