Skills shortage spruikers spark salary swell

IT recruiters have spent the first few weeks of the year spruiking IT skills shortages, and employers will be among the first to feel the effect. A survey released today by workforce specialist Chandler McLeod suggests that IT professionals now believe they can earn $175,000 a year as a result of the perceived shortages.

Canberra rips guts from Gershon

The Australian Public Service has failed in its implementation of the Gershon report recommendations according to Peter Carr, the managing director of analyst Longhaus, who said that ICT contractors have been unfairly targeted by Canberra razor gangs cutting $22 million in the first year of implementation.
