Canberra is gearing up for a boom in the ICT sector, according CollabIT ACT, the organisation managed by the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) which assists small to medium sized companies in the ACT to grow their businesses.
The ICT sector has become an employers' market as the number of job candidates for each role rises, and the demand for permanent employees collapses as CIOs select contractors to plug holes.
The sense that today is crunch time for Europe has the financial markets on a knife edge; but it could also open the doors for IT skills as expats and Europeans concerned at the situation in the Northern Hemisphere look to the apparently more benign Australian market for jobs in 2012.
