Competition agencies from five countries including Australia’s ACCC have signed a new cooperation agreement to better coordinate investigations across international borders and share intelligence, case theories and investigative techniques.
Australians are relatively positive about the growing use of artificial intelligence (AI) in society, but concerns remain around privacy and threats to jobs , according to a new national survey by Monash University, which also reveals that understandings of AI are varied – from robots “taking over the world” to computers being programmed to perform tasks in a positive fashion.
The prevalence and severity of cyber attacks are increasing at an alarming rate every year, so much so, that statistics estimate that cybercrime will cost the global economy a colossal $6 trillion per year by 2021 - with Australia among the countries most targeted by significant cyber attacks, according to analysis by one software firm.
