The final hurdle to the Chinese telecommunications company ZTE Corporation resuming business in the US has been removed with the excision of language from a bill that would have reinstated the ban on the company using American components.
Chinese telecommunications equipment manufacturer ZTE Corporation has been told it can carry out business which is needed to maintain its existing networks and equipment in the US as a deal is being worked out for full operations to resume.
An official at the US Commerce Department says Chinese telecommunications company ZTE Corporation will pay US$400 million into an escrow account within the “next couple of days”, the final step it is needed to take to have a seven-year ban lifted.
