Europeans launch GOCE gravity mapper mission

The European Space Agency launched, on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, its Gravity Field and Steady-State Ocean Circulation Explorer (GOCE) satellite with its mission to measure the changes in the Earth’s gravitation field. This important mission will elevate our knowledge of Earth's oceans and landmasses, which will help us learn more about our global climate.
