Local Internet rights group Electronic Frontiers Australia (EFA) has joined a global protest against mass government surveillance.
A new lobby group called ’Our Fair Deal Coalition’ has called on governments involved in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations to reject copyright proposals that would limit the open Internet, access to knowledge, and curtail economic opportunity.
Online freedom group Electronic Frontiers Australia (EFA) says the Intellectual Property chapter of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), a draft of which has been published by Wikileaks, is a “looming disaster for Australian citizens.”
