South Korea's first and largest energy, chemical and battery company SK Innovation has teamed up with the co-inventor of the lithium-ion battery Professor John Goodenough to work on a new battery that will be safer and have greater energy density.
A team of researchers from the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology and the Samsung R&D Institute Japan has proposed the use of a silver-carbon (Ag-C) composite layer as the anode for an all-solid-state battery which it says can improve the life, capacity, longevity and safety.
The Canadian utility firm Hydro-Québec has announced that it will begin work on the commercialisation of an all-solid-state battery co-invented by Dr John Goodenough, a professor at The University of Texas in Austin, and Dr Maria Helena Braga, an associate professor at the University of Porto in Portugal.
