DDoS attacks consistent, relentless and costly

A distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack at its most basic level is where a website is flooded with traffic to bog it down so much that it cannot respond. Competitors may use a DDoS to drive traffic from a site. A DDoS can be hired as a service on the dark web. When a site is under attack, companies can't maintain stakeholder communications.
