We Australians have still not fully embraced the use of online channels to transact with government, including for completing tax returns, passport or drivers’ license renewals and benefit payments.

The Australian Computer Society (ACS) in South Australia wants digital technologies to be introduced as a mandatory subject in the state’s school system and has called on the state government to place a higher priority on promoting ICT skills and digital literacy.  

Just two weeks out from the Victorian election, the Australian Computer Society has called on the major political parties to give greater recognition and support for the state’s digital economy as a driver of economic growth.
