Cisco aims to dominate the data centre market

Cisco is aiming to take a lead role in the data centre market with the launch of the Cisco Unified Computing Architecture that includes blade servers developed in partnership with Intel and partnerships with other key players: BMC Software, EMC, Emulex, Microsoft, NetApp, Novell, Oracle, QLogic, Red Hat and VMware that in some cases extend well beyond technical integration to provide services and end-to-end support for the new Unified Computing Architecture.

Macquarie Telecom delivers strong half year result

Macquarie Telecom (ASX: MAQ) doubled its EBITDA to $12.0m for the six months to 31 December 2008 compared to the six months ended 31 December 2007. Revenue was up 2.4 percent to $129.3m and the company reported and EBIT profit of $4.3m compared to an EBIT loss of $1.8m in the previous corresponding period.

Cisco teams with Tata for data centre technology

Cisco and Indian IT giant, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have struck a strategic alliance to develop and deliver technology for next generation data centres that take advantage of the network as a platform.
