Australia’s appetite for online content is growing rapidly. According to the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA), Australians downloaded more than 3.1 million terabytes of data in June 2017 quarter – a 43 per cent increase on the previous year.

Firmware and hardware security firm Eclypsium (recently funded by Andreessen Horowitz and others) has released new findings, demonstrating that BMC (baseboard management controllers) vulnerabilities can actually be exploited to "brick" servers, rendering entire data centres and cloud applications completely useless.

Fujitsu’s Noble Park Data Centre in Melbourne has achieved a NABERS Energy for data centres rating, which it says makes it the first in Australia to be certified using the National Australian Built Environment Rating System data centres tools.
