Controversy and questions about broadband speed and performance aside, NBN Co, the company building the National Broadband Network, has today released its 2016 financial results and says it has exceeded connection and financial targets for the ninth consecutive quarter. Internet Australia chief Laurie Patton has weighed into the debate about NBN Co chairman Dr Ziggy Switkowski’s newspaper opinion piece on the AFP raids on Labor functionaries over leaks of NBN information, suggesting the broadband network chief is using his comments to create a public distraction from the “very serious flaws” in the NBN's current design strategy.
New Zealand's largest telecommunications infrastructure provider, Chorus, and Nokia have inked a three-year extension to their technology partnership to facilitate further investment in New Zealand’s ultra high speed broadband program.
