Smartpen maker Livescribe has been acquired by its technology provider Anoto to ‘complement Anoto’s vision for multi-surface digital writing and drawing’ as a wholly owned subsidiary.
The pen might be mightier than the sword but it's unlikely to prove a match for the tablet and the smartphone, unless Livescribe realises its vision of a smart pen tightly integrated with smartphone and tablet.
Livescribe, the company behind the Echo Smartpen, has added WiFi connectivity with the launch of the Sky Smartpen and has tightly integrated it with cloud-based file storage and management service, Evernote.
