Vendors line up for slice of ehealth pie

With the clock ticking on its race to spend $467 million of Government funds by June next year the National E-Health Transition Authority (Nehta) is close to announcing the composition of its first vendor panel, nominating the companies which will be involved in the first of its e-health implementations.

NSW unwraps model procurement plan

The NSW Government today formally announced its revamped IT procurement framework, a day ahead of schedule, and not a moment too soon for ICT vendors. However they will still have to wait until next Tuesday to have a gander at the framework and again until June for the framework to become effective, by which stage NSW could have a new Government.

Cloud market needs industry watchdog

An industry watchdog which can police the cloud computing market is needed to avoid enterprises coming unstuck when offloading their computing to a cloud provider. In the same way that APRA keeps an eye on the local banks, delivering a measure of comfort when people hand over their dosh, a cloud watchdog would provide a measure of comfort when people hand over their data.
