OCC POP UP on March 6 and 7 at Sydney Showground showcasing cool pop culture communities

Be it gaming, cosplay, comics, an artist alley, family activities and community groups, including a brand new area dedicated to speed running with the help of Spawn Point Bar, this is one cool event you won't want to miss!

OCC stands for "Oz Comic Con" because it's put on by the people who hold the Oz Comic Con event, and they certainly know how to put on an event with style.

The event is called OCC POP UP and it's on in less than two weeks, on March 6 and 7 at the Sydney Showgrounds.

It features the type of gaming exhibits you would often find on the Oz Comic-Con show floor, and it opens the floodgates for a range of passionate game developers, exhibitors, and guests.

As you'd expect, OCC POP UP will be no exception to this, offering a plethora of gaming opportunities across two action filled days, among all the associated pop culture things people love as described above, including cosplay, comics and plenty more.

This year, with the help of Spawn Point Bar, OCC POP UP will feature a brand new area dedicated entirely to Speedrunning, with various games such as Super Mario 64, Tony Hawk’s Underground 2, and Crash Team Racing on offer.

Thank goodness for video games and the Comic Con people along with Spawn Point Bar!

Of course, if Speedrunning isn’t your thing, you can get involved in the action with Half Monster Games interactive One Shot Western.

This is a mammoth 1000 player convention game that allows you to become a gunslinger and sends you on an adventure around the con, hunting for treasure, all while avoiding the outlaws that hunt YOU for your treasure. Becoming a cowboy? I’d buy that for a dollar!

For those travelling at a more leisurely pace, there will be a board game library and also freeplay opportunities where you can get involved with console tournaments to crush your friends.

Ticket prices are per day, with adult pricing at $45 for the entire day on either Saturday or Sunday, $25 for either the morning or afternoon sessions.

For children, the the prices are $27.50 for each day to be there the entire day, or $19 per day for either the morning or afternoon sessions.

Happy gaming, and may all your pop culture dreams come true!
