The rollout of the Apple TV app for Sony smart TVs has started with the X9000H series.
"We are thrilled to be offering the Apple TV app on our latest Sony X9000H series, with plans to roll out the app further on select models by the end of the year," said Sony ANZ head of TV Aki Hosoda.
"The Apple TV app will open up an even bigger world of entertainment, allowing customers to enjoy Apple TV+, Apple TV channels and more, in addition to a whole range of entertainment apps available on our smart TVs."
The X9000 supports AirPlay and HomeKit, as well as Google Assistant and Alexa.
Other models expected to get the Apple TV app this month include the Z8H, A8H, X95H, X80H, Z9G, A9G, X95G, X85G, Z9F and A9F series.
Sony staggers the release of firmware updates via the automatic download process, so if you can't wait you may be able to manually download the new version from the company's site and then transfer it to the TV using a USB drive.
Apple TV+ subscriptions cost $7.99 a month, but Apple has been providing free one-year subscriptions with the purchase of a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod touch or Mac.
