VMware recognised as employer of choice for gender equality, fourth time in a row

By

Cloud computing and virtualisation vendor VMware was today officially provided with a Employer of Choice for Gender Equality citation by the Australian Government, acknowledging its leadership in workplace diversity and inclusion.

VMware’s recognition comes from the Australian Government’s Workplace Gender Equality Agency, recognising VMware’s efforts to create an inclusive workplace for all people. It is the fourth time VMware has been awarded this citation, receiving it every year since the EOCGE’s inception in 2014.

These efforts are driven through VMware Australia’s diversity and inclusion strategies, headed by Alister Dias, VMware ANZ managing director, and the key executive sponsor of a raft of internal programmes which set and review key goals in this area.

These include a Diversity and Inclusion Council compromised of more than 50 employees from across the business, driving initiatives from the ground up.

VMware further states women earn the same as men across all roles, accounting for factors such as geographical location, performance and tenure.

“Innovation is driven by bringing together difference perspectives, experiences, backgrounds, beliefs and world views, in a place where people feel valued and supported in their difference and able to share their unique perspectives. This innovation has pushed us to continue to go from strength to strength growing 9% in 2017,” Dias stated.
