Global communications firm Poly - formerly known as Plantronics and Polycom) has released new devices to facilitate the use of Zoom and Microsoft Teams for conferencing and chatting.

The company said its Poly Studio X30 and Poly Studio X50 video bars and the Poly G7500 video conferencing system were the first Zoom Rooms Appliances to be certified by Zoom.

These are claimed to be the first Android-based devices to offer native Zoom Rooms functionality and have been developed with security in mind with a hardened operating system, secure update distribution, and third-party testing for security vulnerabilities.

"As businesses in Australia are shifting towards a workforce in transition, Poly and Zoom continue to set the standard in the development of seamless native video collaboration devices that let organisations and their employees stay optimally productive," said Andy Hurt, managing director, ANZ, Poly.

"Our collective portfolio of Zoom certified devices makes it easy for users to collaborate from anywhere, with friction-free meetings that customers and IT managers expect."

"Zoom is committed to consistently delivering a high quality experience for all use cases and as the first Zoom Rooms appliances to receive Zoom certification, the Poly Studio X family and G7500 will help ensure meetings are seamless and secure," said Jeff Smith, head of Zoom Rooms for Zoom Video Communications

"Together with Poly, we can deliver a radically simple video experience with technology that is easy to deploy, manage and use so that your meeting remains the focus."

The new devices for Microsoft Teams Rooms — Poly G10-T, G40-T and G80-T — are product-in-a-box solutions meant to provide superior meeting experiences that include audio and video tools for meeting rooms of any sizes.

Poly claimed the usage of Teams continues to grow with more than 75 million daily active users.

It said Poly Room Solution for Teams Rooms provides customisable room tools that enable virtual collaboration experiences with little to no-touch control.

Said Hurt: "The workforce is currently in transition. While a portion will continue working from home several days a week, we will also start seeing more people slowly returning to the office.

"The office remains core to getting work done, especially to collaborate, and businesses will need to ensure that they have the technology in place to support those on site to ensure optimal productivity.

"We firmly believe that simplicity is key to adoption, utilisation and speedy ROI for businesses. Scalable and easy to install for rooms of any size, Poly Room Solutions for Microsoft Teams Rooms creates a natural meeting environment with the highest audio and video quality, connecting all participants regardless of location in a way that makes them forget about where they're at, and to focus on the discussion."

Joseph Mingori, general manager, Lenovo Smart Office Business, said: "Lenovo is excited to join forces with Poly to deliver Poly Room Solution for Microsoft Teams, featuring ThinkSmart Edition Tiny. This offering allows us to deliver a joint solution designed to meet our shared customers collaboration space needs."

Ilya Bukshteyn, partner director for Microsoft Teams devices, said: "Customers look to Poly and Microsoft to deliver a seamless collaboration experience across collaboration, calling and meetings.

"Poly brings our joint customers a broad portfolio of devices, all delivering a consistent Microsoft Teams user experience, and enabling those users to collaborate and communicate easily, quickly, and seamlessly wherever they are working."
