MOVEit 2021.1 improves accessibility Featured

By

Managed file transfer software Progress MOVEit release 2021.1 delivers improved Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 compliance, as well as improved resilience, scalability and usability.

WCAG 2.1 defines how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

Some 15% of the world's population are thought to live with some form of disability.

Ways in which MOVEit 2021.1 addresses the issue include the provision of text alternatives to non-text images, as well as captions for audio content.

"While the internet and mobile apps are integral parts of everyday life for most people in the US, accessibility remains a challenge for many – a challenge that has only grown during the pandemic, with our increased reliance on digital technologies," said Progress senior vice president of core products John Ainsworth.

"MOVEit's support for WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards underscores our commitment to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities and offering solutions that further enable ease of access and advance digital inclusion."

Other improvements in MOVEit 2021.1 include a new and more robust MySQL database engine for MOVEit Transfer and MOVEit Automation, more flexibility for the number of simultaneously running tasks, and support for embedded JPEG and PNG images in HTML emails in MOVEit Automation.

Progress MOVEit 2021.1 is available immediately.
