Apple ‘fleet’ management software for iOS 9.3 (and Mac)

For organisations that use a lot of iOS and OS X devices, JAMF software might be the ideal fleet management suite.

JAMF Software focuses management of Apple ‘fleets’ in businesses, education, and government via its Casper Suite and Bushel software. More than 6,000 global customers rely on JAMF to manage 5.5 million Apple devices, including three million Macs. The company has more than 650 customers in the Asia Pacific region.

It has offered zero-day support for all iOS releases since the initial iOS mobile device management release in 2010, ensuring customers can take advantage of Apple’s latest operating system.

Its key product solutions include:

  • The Casper Suite - helps IT admins maintain, update, and ensure their fleet of Apple devices are running at optimal performance. With an effective management solution in place, admins are assured their end users' most crucial technology needs are always met—from automated software updates to security, to inventory. The heart of the Casper Suite is the JAMF Software Server (JSS) which allows users to communicate securely with their devices from any browser.

It supports the new iOS 9.3 education capabilities, including Lost Mode, Home Screen Layout, Classroom app, and education preview features, such as Shared iPad and Managed Apple IDs.

  • Casper Focus is a free companion iPad app to the Casper Suite where teachers can gain student attention, the transition to specific apps or web pages, conduct secure assessments, and personalise learning.
  • Bushel is the only Apple device management solution designed from the ground up for small and medium-sized businesses to easliy deploy secure, and manage Macs, iPads, and iPhones.

“With development teams dedicated to the zero-day support and a diligent beta program, iOS 9.3 features have been in the hands of customers for more than six weeks. Customer response has been positive regarding iOS 9.3 features, code quality, and support,” said Dean Hager, CEO, JAMF Software. “With an exclusive focus on Apple, no one is better equipped than JAMF to support Apple and help schools and businesses tap into the ground-breaking capabilities of iOS 9.3.”
