FULL VIDEO: Lucy Lin's ethical AI talk from Day 2 of StartCon 2019

By

First came the preview from Day 1, but from Day 2 comes the actual talk itself, where Lucy Lin blends in a cavalcade of superheroes to showcase the ethical AI cavalry we need to develop to make sure we save ourselves from our own self-created AI dilemma.

There was nothing artificial about Lucy Lin's ethical AI presentation on Day 2 of StartCon 2019, as Lucy, from experts in Innovation, AI and Blockchain marketing, ForestLyn, got real about the issues facing us as we seek to embrace AI and take advantage of it.

Lucy previewed her talk on Day 1, but Day 2 not only showcase a range of issues and problems we face with AI, but also looked a six recommendations and solutions AI programmers and all of us need to take note of in developing AI to the next level.

After all, we have already seen a range of AI failures, as Lucy ably demonstrated in her talk, but it's not all dystopian doom and Skynet gloom - AI is a tool, after all, and we can wield it for good or evil.

Now, Lucy's talk was titled "The AI Dilemma: Is it possible to perfect ethical decision making?", and it had the following description:

"Artificial intelligence (AI) has made its way into more parts of our lives than you probably realise. From self-driving cars to chatbots and job recruiting systems, AI and machine learning is using a large amount of data to make important decisions that are personalised for us.

"But who is checking the human programmer’s work? Will their personal biases also appear within the AI? Also, can we trust the data within the datasets? In today’s world, the biggest challenge of AI and big data is an ethical one.

"In this session, Lucy will talk about ways that AI impacts us, and considerations and recommendations we should be implementing to make our data more ethical."

Lucy's talk can be seen in full below. For plenty more StartCon 2019 content, visit the StartCon 2019 site to log in with your existing username and password, or purchase a digital pass for all the content in streamable form, which will be coming in a week or two for all to enjoy and learn from!
