Myer, Amazon deal to sell Kindle in stores, online

By

Myer is now an official Amazon retailer with the US giant’s Kindle e-reader range on the department store’s shelves and in its online store from today.

Amazon announced that Myer had come on board selling the Kindle range and accessories such as lightweight, hard-wearing covers and cases.

“We are thrilled to announce our programme with Myer, a true icon of Australian retailing. As the largest department store chain down under, Myer will help make e-reading even more accessible to literature enthusiasts across the nation,” said Scott Harrington, director of Amazon Device Sales.

“We want to help make it as easy as possible for Australians to delve into a good story. Now that Australians can shop for Kindle e-readers and accessories at Myer, we’re one step closer to that goal.”

Dain Friis, Myer Group general manager Home and Entertainment, hailed the tie-up with Amazon.

“Myer is passionate about offering our customers only the best brands, so this collaboration is a natural fit for us.

“Amazon Kindle e-readers are well-loved in Australia, and are a welcome addition to our existing range of entertainment products. We look forward to welcoming e-reading fans into our stores, and online, to be able to purchase their very own Amazon Kindle.”

Starting today, Myer says it will stock a selection of Kindle e-readers, including Kindle Voyage, Kindle Paperwhite — reportedly Amazon’s most popular and best-selling Kindle — and Kindle.
