Australian-listed ICT services and consulting company, CSG, has secured a contract under which the Northern Territory government owned insurance and financial services group, TIO, will outsource its internal IT operations and technical support services to the company.

TIO general manager corporate services, Jeff Wright, said the move to outsource to CSG was designed to support TIO's long-term strategy to 'clearly focus on building long term sustainability and improving customer service.'

'By outsourcing to a supplier with greater capability and skills than what we have in-house, TIO can improve our IT systems in a cost effective and sustainable way. The service agreement with CSG also enables TIO to continue to deliver its high level of customer service through its telephone and branch network, supported by flexible and leading edge technology services.'

Wright confirmed that the outsource agreement would mean no Northern Territory job losses as the seven impacted TIO employees would transition to roles with CSG. 'CSG is a professional ICT company with access to the latest training, industry standards and professional development, it provides a number of opportunities for employees.'

CSG managing director, Julie-Ann Kerin, welcomed the contract for the management of ICT services, data communications, phone systems and printer management, and said that the company had 'a unique capability in being able to provide managed ICT services right through to print management services.' It's been a clear strategy of the company to cross leverage the print and technology solutions offering and this is a significant contract that delivers this integrated approach.

'As the largest ICT employer in the Northern Territory, I welcome the opportunity to continue to grow the company and employ local people,' Kerin said, adding that the TIO staff interested in transitioning to CSG would be provided with 'more opportunity to work in a dedicated ICT company.'
