The MobilePixels Duex Plus portable 13.3" monitor gives you a second screen anywhere

By

A multi-monitor setup brings productivity gains in excess of the cost of additional monitors, but it’s one thing when you’re working at a desk, and another when you’re working on the go. Mobile Pixels has you covered with the Duet Plus portable monitor that goes anywhere you do. It even works with the Nintendo Switch and Samsung DeX as well as your laptop.

That’s right; this simple plug-and-play 13.3” 1080p panel easily fits in your bag and you can use it a desk, in a remote office, the library, on a grassy field, in flight, in a lounge, wherever you might be sitting as you work, study, or play.

It connects effortlessly plugging into a USB-C or USB-A port, supporting not only Windows, macOS, or Linux laptops, but the Nintendo Switch and Samsung DeX devices too. Whatever you use, it’s your second screen to extend your display or to mirror your display so others can see what you’re seeing, and perhaps what you are showing or explaining to them.

The panel is light and small, coming in at only a quarter of an inch thick and using 4.5W of power, but is made from durable PC ABS plastic. It includes an auto-rotation display so it’s always presenting the right image no matter which way up you use it, along with a helpful kickstand.

iTWire tested a Mobile Pixels Deux Pro for ourselves and found it exactly as described; with no effort we could carry it about and use it at a desk or outside, sitting in the garden, or even at a cafeteria or in the back seat of the car. It was a pleasure to use, providing dual-screen functionality for multitasking as well as screen-sharing with others. We could demonstrate what we were working on, and we could work efficiently with email and Atlassian Jira on one screen, and Visual Studio, SQL Server, AWS Workspace, GitHub CodeSpaces on another.

The product began life as a successful fully-funded Kickstarter campaign and is now available for everyone to purchase.

If you're often on the go then the Mobile Pixels portable display is well worth looking at. Or, if you’re looking for a great Christmas present for the road warrior in your life, then this is sure to be a popular choice. It’s novel, but highly practical and useful boosting productivity and creativity - and it gives big-screen fun on the Nintendo Switch while camping or otherwise away from the TV.

The Mobile Pixels Duex Pro is currently $US 251.99, representing 40% off its usual retail price of $US 419.99. Mobile Pixels also sells a smaller 12.5” Deux Lite which, while smaller, is still 1080p, and a Trio series of USB external portable monitors that magnetise to the back of any laptop. It's also available on Amazon, with many questions and answers and over 1200 positive ratings.
