BCT introduces 'cloud of clouds' OneCloud service

By

BCT's OneCloud network provides a single private connection to AWS, Azure and SoftLayer.

Building on its MPLS network, BCT's OneCloud connects corporate networks with private connections to Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and IBM SoftLayer, as well as the company's own BCT Cloud and any private cloud infrastructure.

BCT's main focus is on the financial, legal and healthcare sectors, so OneCloud is PCI compliant, and connects to cloud providers' onshore facilities.

Furthermore, the use of BCT's private network means data does not flow across the public internet,

In addition to providing the connection, BCT can advise businesses on the right cloud provider to suit specific workloads.

"OneCloud gives organisations the ability to leverage each of these three providers as part of the one network," said BCT CTO Adam Murdoch.

"For example, an organisation can have its email server with Microsoft, its storage with Amazon, and specific applications sitting on SoftLayer."

He added "BCT can take care of the network part of things. Rather than having to wait to purchase and implement hardware and work on complex architecture, customers simply purchase OneCloud and start consuming those services."
