The new enterprise services include a fixed wireless service, which connects business sites with via the TPG Telecom 5G mobile network, and a 5G-backup SD-WAN (software-defined wide area network) service, which means business customers can stay connected to critical communication services in the event of fixed-line services being affected by unplanned outages.
“Small businesses, large enterprises and governments across Australia can unlock the potential of 5G technology with the launch of TPG Telecom’s 5G Fixed Wireless and 5G-backup-enabled SD-WAN services,” said TPG Telecom general manager commercial, enterprise, and government Jeremy Howe.
“5G is a must for businesses that require low latency, high performance, greater capacity and faster speed.”

Hungry Jacks is the first major customer of TPG Telecom’s new 5G capable SD-WAN solution as part of a five-year deal to provide the quick service restaurant with Wi-Fi and NBN connectivity at more than 350 retail and office locations around Australia.
TPG Telecom’s 5G SD-WAN solution uses a mix of technologies including its 5G network and its fixed-line network to provide resilient connectivity to cloud applications and business-critical services.
It is based on Fortinet’s Security Fabric platform and provides businesses the controls they need to protect their network environment, people, customers, and data by delivering enhanced security, Wi-Fi, self-service, and reporting through a single portal.
“5G-backup is essential to meet the always-on, high-speed needs of our enterprise customers. With the reliability 5G-backup offers, customers can have the peace-of-mind of a seamless connection in the event of fixed-line service faults, without sacrificing speed or performance,” Howe said.
TPG Telecom finished the connectivity rollout for Hungry Jacks in just 12 months.
“I’ve gone through a lot of technology rollouts in more than 30 years in the industry and have not seen this type of communications deployment done as smooth and as quickly as this,” said Hungry Jacks CEO Chris Green.
“Reliable and robust connectivity is key to delivering on our digital ambitions. With TPG Telecom we now know if our fixed-line connection goes down, then our digital kiosks, our eftpos terminals and store connectivity will all seamlessly switch over to 5G and keep us and our customers connected.”
Specialist high-rise construction firm Hickory is TPG Telecom’s first 5G fixed wireless enterprise customer.
As a specialist in the construction of high-rise buildings, Hickory required a connectivity solution that could be delivered quickly at scale and in locations not yet serviced by fixed-line broadband.
“The nature of big construction projects means we can’t always get a fixed-line connection like you normally would in a commercial setting,” said Hickory head of technology Craig Hunter.
“With TPG Telecom’s 5G fixed wireless, we were up and running in record time, meaning the site team could mobilise sooner, minimising time wastage and benefiting from fast and reliable connectivity to collaborate and communicate with everyone on the project,” said Hunter.
The enterprise-ready 5G fixed wireless service uses the TPG Telecom 5G mobile network which provides substantial coverage across metropolitan Australia and key population centres with download speeds of up to 250Mbps.
The service also comes with unlimited data, meaning customers don’t need to worry about download limits or bill shock.
“TPG Telecom’s Enterprise Fixed Wireless Internet brings together a high-speed mobile network and business grade devices to deliver secure and fast connectivity in a fraction of the time it can take to roll out a wired connection,” Howe claimed.
“Whether it’s a new branch, pop up store, or temporary construction zone, Fixed Wireless Internet can rapidly connect businesses to the Internet at 5G speeds.”
