In a statement, Huawei said revenue for 1Q2019 was CNY179.7 billion (A$37.58 billion), adding that the profit margin was about 8%, slightly higher than for the corresponding period in 2018.
The US has been campaigning for many years to try and get countries it considers allies to boycott Huawei gear in 5G rollouts.
But Huawei said this year would be one of large-scale deployment of 5G globally, and as a result its Carrier Business Group had "unprecedented opportunities" for growth.
In the first quarter of 2019, the statement said the company's Enterprise Business Group had launched its digital platform and a new strategy known as "Huawei Inside".
"Huawei is committed to building the foundations of a digital China and the core of a digital world by delivering the Digital Platform along with ubiquitous connectivity and pervasive intelligence," it said. "Huawei's Enterprise Business Group also deployed the world's first 5G-enabled Wi-Fi 6 access point. As of the end of Q1 2019, Huawei had shipped more Wi-Fi 6 products than any other company worldwide."
The Consumer Business Group also showed growth in the period, shipping 59 million smartphones during the first quarter of 2019. "In other business segments like PCs, wearables, and smart home, Huawei has been welcomed by global consumers for its leading, innovative products and superior user experiences," the statement said.
