Why on Earth would a tech startup want to see a lawyer? You might expect lawyers to cost a lot of money and be naysayers that impede start-up progress, but it turns out they can actually be useful - according to lawyer and business expert Elise Margow.

According to Elise Margow, from Legally Speaking, the concept of the law and lawyers flies in the face of the innovation, flexibility and exploration required for start-ups.

She even explains that lawyers have a reputation as "cost drainers" and "naysayers", who impede start-up progress. So why on earth would a start-up founder want to see a lawyer?

Well, Elise from Legally Speaking and Karen Finch, of Legally Yours, are holding a free Zoom session between 12.30pm and 1.30pm on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 called: "Why on Earth would I want to see a lawyer?" which you can freely register for via EventBrite here.

In this session, Elise will outline the value lawyers should be providing start-ups founders and how you can save on your legal costs, which includes:

  • Key Takeaways attendees can expect from the session are:-
  • How to instruct a lawyer to suit the legal needs of your start-up
  • How to set-up the initial business instructure
  • Basic legal knowledge on legal protections, supplier contracts and employee agreements
  • Tips on how to save on your legal costs

In addition to providing a wide range of legal advice to her clients and reducing the legal spend of clients substantially, she has contributed on credit and due diligence committees, is a director of two companies and has company secretarial experience.
