D-Link launches access points to improve Wi-Fi coverage

D-Link A/NZ launches a range of Nuclias Cloud-Managed Wi-Fi 6 indoor and Wi-Fi 5 Wave 2 outdoor access points, built upon the Nuclias Cloud Network Management platform and said to enhance managed service providers’ (MSP) offerings.

MSP’s and end-users alike can now enhance their offering and their Wi-Fi networks with new products to the Nuclias Cloud device range, according to D-Link.

Through a centralised system, tasks such as segmenting the network, managing multiple devices simultaneously, enforcing security policies, and monitoring live network statistics remotely can be done anytime and anywhere.

D-Link’s four new access points include a  4x4 Wi-Fi 6 AX3600 access point (DBA-X2830P), a 2x2 Wi-Fi 6 AX1800 (DBA-X1230P), an Outdoor IP67-rated Wi-Fi 5 AC1300 (DBA-3621P), and an Outdoor IP55-rated Wi-Fi 5 AC1300 (DBA-3620P).

DBA-X2830P - Nuclias Cloud-Managed Wi-Fi 6 AX3600 4x4 Dual Band PoE Access Point
• Centralised Cloud-based management and Zero Touch Deployment via Nuclias Cloud
• The latest Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) technology
• 4x4 Mu-Mimo design with 3600Mbps combined throughput
• Supports WPA3— the latest Wi-Fi encryption standard
• Two LAN ports with link aggregation up to 3.5gbps
• Airtime Fairness and Band Steering technologies
• Powered by IEEE 802.3at PoE

D-Link says the DBA-X2830P (pictured) is empowered with next generation Wi-Fi 6. Mu-mimo with even more uplink and downlink streams serves more devices simultaneously. OFDMA is said to increase transmission efficiency and 1024-QAM packs even more data, bringing unadulterated speed increases of a searing 25%.

The features that enable DBA-X2830P to maintain data speeds are:

This feature handles congestion by being able to support more simultaneous streams of data. The Achilles’ heel of any Wi-Fi network is many users all connecting simultaneously. Equipped with Mu-Mimo with four spatial streams, the DBA-X2830P can open four connections at once, transforming one high-speed connection into four.

Load Balancing
Connections are shared out fairly to surrounding access points, avoiding any single point in your Wi-Fi becoming overwhelmed.

Beamforming technology optimises the wireless signal, focusing it towards receiving devices and then following them to maintain an optimal signal. This adaptive beamforming is said to enhance spectral efficiency and link quality.

Band Steering
Band Steering automatically drives devices such as smart phones or tablets onto the 5GHz band.

The DBA-X2830P Nuclias Cloud-Managed Access Point is deployed as a pre-managed, zero-configuration Access Point. With Nuclias' Zero-Touch Deployment, the access points can be powered on site, plug them in, and remotely set up and manage them through Nuclias Cloud.

The DBA-3620P (pictured) is a Nuclias Cloud Managed AC1300 Wave 2 Outdoor access point that is deployed as a pre-managed, zero-configuration access point also controlled through Nuclias Cloud.

This new access point comes in a IP55 rated housing that allows it to be installed outdoors. The access point has built-in omnidirectional antennas but also has the option to connect external antennas via two SMA connectors. The DBA-3620P can be mounted on a wall or a pole with the help of mounting accessories

D-Link launched the DBA-3620P and recognised that organisations want enterprise-grade, highly flexible networking solutions to support employees, educators, and end-users who need high-speed connectivity to perform remote and on-site tasks.

D-Link claims the DBA-3620P easily expands a business' wireless range and coverage for outdoor applications especially highly dense environments such as universities or luxury hotels. The access point also features remote deployment, system configuration, and ongoing site analytics via the compatible Nuclias Cloud app.
