Tech In Gov 2022 in Canberra - a video journey, part 1 Featured

By

Originally meant to be held in February but postponed to May 11 and 12 due to COVID, the Tech In Gov conference in Canberra has clearly been a success, with a packed expo area during conference breaks, and tons of top companies in attendance.

Tech In Gov is billed as Australia's most important event for ICT in Government.

CRN was one of the news organisations in attendance, with tech journalist Nico Arboleda penning two articles, one titled "Defence to look to the channel for data and analytics" and a second titled "Australian Govt. not sufficiently investing enough in artificial intelligence: research institute boss."

I was upgraded to a delegate pass, but as I'm on leave (and live in Canberra), I went to see the expo, which is always a cool thing to do, whether in Canberra or at CES in Las Vegas.

So, what I did was to speak to the companies presenting at the expo, and I recorded a range of video interviews with some of the companies on display.

I haven't had time to edit them all, but here are five videos to start with, featuring Rob Roe, the MD of OneTrust, Tim Austin, the Head of Government Solutions with Vocus, Steve Karandais, the GM of Keysight Technologies, Emad Afghani, the VP Sales A/NZ at TeamViewer, and a fantastic presentation from TeamViewer's David Manuel showcasing amazing AR capabilities for frontline and other workers that TeamViewer now offers, well beyond the remote control capabilities that TeamViewer has offered for years.

You can also see an alternate version of this presentation and a lot more from TeamViewer's F1 event back in April, which was a great event, and also highlighted TeamViewer's Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 sponsorship - the article is titled: "LAUNCH VIDEO + INTERVIEW: TeamViewer showcases AR solutions for frontline workers during Australian F1 GP, celebrates 10 years in Australia."

Note - I need to figure out how to place my RØDE mic more accurately, or get a mic that is positioned near my mouth, as my audio needed boosting to be heard, although the people I interviewed can be heard just fine as they are speaking into a handheld microphone, and my boosted audio is loud enough to heaer.

This audio boosting wasn't able to be automatically fixed by selecting audio normalisation, and this manual work has taken me longer, so apologies that all the videos I have recorded aren't up yet, but they are coming.

So, here's the first set of videos to enjoy, they're all short and are a great example of the calibre of companies at this very successful Tech In Gov 2022 event, with the first four videos in order of filming.

1. Tech in Gov 2022 - a chat with OneTrust MD, Rob Roe

2. Tech in Gov 2022 - a chat with Vocus Head of Government Solutions, Tim Austin

3. Tech in Gov 2022 - a chat with Steve Karandais, GM of Keysight Technologies

4. Tech in Gov 2022 - a chat with TeamViewer VP, Emad Afghani

5. Tech in Gov 2022 - TeamViewer's excellent augmented reality demo, plus more!
