Technology marketplace platform Marketplacer announced that its customer, MedCart, was honoured as Emerging Retailer of the Year for 2022 at the National Retail Awards.

“We are thrilled to be honoured as Emerging Retailer of the Year for 2022 at the National Retail Awards, and know that this accolade would simply not have been possible without Marketplacer,” said MedCart CEO Dylan Bookless.

“The team were able to get MedCart up and running in such a short period of time and we worked hand in hand to launch a platform that allowed MedCart to scale quickly. Marketplacer has supported our operations and the technology will help us achieve strong growth in the years ahead while continuing to be a valuable technology partner for MedCart in the future.”

“We are thrilled for MedCart and congratulate them on winning this prestigious industry award. It is a testament to the company’s energy, innovation, and forward-thinking strategy. We love partnering with our customers to build new business opportunities in the marketplace economy,” added Marketplacer vice president of customer success and growth Britt Rinker.

Established in 2021, MedCart is an online marketplace designed to streamline the way healthcare organisations and workers locate and precure personal protective equipment (PPE).

Built on Marketplacer, the portal enables businesses and consumers find and order supplies from more than 60 different distributors and manufacturers around the world, delivered by Australian retailers.

In addition, it allows consumers to shop for everything they need in one place and for retailers to sell online without the need to invest in a website directly.

Everyone can select the products they require, make payment, and have them shipped directly from the provider. All back-end functions are undertaken by the Marketplacer platform.

Not only does MedCart simplify the selling process for retailers using the platform, but healthcare workers, teachers, government, and universities can identify suppliers that have the equipment required to ensure ongoing high-quality care can be delivered.

Since going live in June 2021, MedCart claims both customer and product numbers have already grown substantially.

After reporting the milestone of near $10 million in revenue, the team have gone from 2,000 products to over 12,000 in the last few months, also adding some of the biggest names in online retail as sellers.

MedCart’s future plans, include additional features to support a wider range and faster delivery with the goal of delivering medical and pharmacy products within an hour of ordering.

ENABLE HYBRID CLOUD & REDUCE NETWORK LATENCY WHITEPAPER

Hybrid cloud promises to bring together the best of both worlds enabling businesses to combine the scalability and cost-effectiveness of the cloud with the performance and control that you can get from your on-premise infrastructure.

Reducing WAN latency is one of the biggest issues with hybrid cloud performance. Taking advantage of compression and data deduplication can reduce your network latency.

Research firm, Markets and Markets, predicted that the hybrid cloud market size is expected to grow from US$38.27 billion in 2017 to US$97.64 billion by 2023.

Colocation facilities provide many of the benefits of having your servers in the cloud while still maintaining physical control of your systems.

Cloud adjacency provided by colocation facilities can enable you to leverage their low latency high bandwidth connections to the cloud as well as providing a solid connection back to your on-premises corporate network.
