Ruckus expands ZoneFlex Wi-Fi access point family

By

Ruckus has announced new ZoneFlex Wi-Fi access points aimed at small businesses.

The Ruckus ZoneFlex R310 is an entry-level yet enterprise-class dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi access point. It will soon also available in a controller-less version, the ZoneFlex R310 Unleashed, which reduces upfront costs while retaining quick and easy deployment.

Similarly, the outdoor ZoneFlex T300 access points will be offered in controller-less Unleashed versions.

The Unleashed models incorporate Ruckus's SmartMesh technology to enable a wireless mesh network (doing away with the need to run Ethernet wiring to all access points) and feature SNMP support for management and monitoring.

They also include Ruckus's BeamFlex adaptive antenna technology and ChannelFly capacity-based channel selection to provide stronger Wi-Fi signals over longer ranges, more stable connections, higher data rates and more concurrent users per access point.

"Small and mid-size organisations increasingly rely on Wi-Fi to engage customers, deliver services and run their businesses," said Ruckus vice president of marketing and business development Kash Shaikh.

"Our new products help level the playing field for small businesses, local retailers, coffee shops and restaurants, so they can deliver a high-quality Wi-Fi experience indoors and outdoors – with a much lower total cost of ownership."

The ZoneFlex R310 is available immediately, with the Unleashed versions of the ZoneFlex R310 and T300 series to follow in March 2016.
