NextDC offers AWS Direct Connect

By

AWS Direct Connect is now available to tenants of NextDC's data centres via the AxonVX virtual exchange network.

A growing number of data centre and interconnect operators offer AWS Direct Connect to their customers. iTWire has previously reported on Bulletproof, Megaport and Pacnet.

NextDC has now joined that list, making AWS Direct Connect available on-demand to its clients through the AxonVX virtual exchange network.

Organisations can connect their internal networks to AxonVX-enabled data centres around the country, gaining access to the dedicated network connection to an AWS hosting location provided by NextDC.

AWS Direct Connect improves the performance, reliability and security of AWS applications and workloads, and helps with the adoption of hybrid cloud.

"The addition of AWS Direct Connect significantly strengthens the AxonVX ecosystem, providing customers national access to AWS' leading cloud services with secure, high-speed connectivity," said NextDC CEO Craig Scroggie.

"The dynamic, elastic AxonVX switching fabric allows customers to provision services in minutes, offering unprecedented speeds and full integration between cloud services and internal applications, with users benefitting from flexible and dynamic bandwidth through automated network provisioning."

AxonVX also provides Azure ExpressRoute connectivity, among others.
