Brother RJ-2 mobile label and receipt printers (first look)

By

Brother has released four new 2” wide mobile label and receipt printers incorporating features that have made the existing RJ line-up popular in retail, food, warehousing, parking and public safety.

The printers meet the IP54 (dust protected and water splash/rain resistant) specification and 2.4-metre drop protection. They have full compatibility with iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac – the RJ-2050 and RJ-2150 have both Apple MFi and Apple AirPrint certification.

They are smaller, rugged, and are suitable for applications in retail, public safety, parking, pharmacy, lab, hospital, field services, manufacturing, warehouse, and route accounting. The RJ series also has 3 and 4” models.

Stefanie Dixon, marketing specialist at Brother International (Aust), said, “A 2016 industry survey of 500 retailers revealed that about a third are planning to invest in mobile printers for in-store, warehouse and supply chain operations this year.

"Among the top must-have features cited in our follow-up survey were speed, size, reliability, and connectivity. RJ-2 mobile printers raise the bar by fulfilling these and many other mobile marketplace needs.”

Brother RJ-2 Series:

  • Versatile Functionality – Prints labels, tags, and receipts from 1” to 2” wide. One mobile printer can be used for a variety of mobile receipt and label printing applications
  • Tough Construction – IP54 certification and 8.2 ft. drop protection means that water, dust, or drops won’t affect operation under normal conditions
  • Lightweight, Ergonomic Design ‒ Weighing 465 – 545g with the battery, RJ-2 printers can be easily worn or carried for extended periods of time
  • Multiple Simultaneous Connectivity Options - USB, Bluetooth-level WLAN security can handle applications inside the four walls or outside, allowing simultaneous use or sharing of the device technology and Wi-Fi wireless connectivity combinations with enterprise
  • Consumer Mobile Device Readiness - Brother provides the tools and connectivity necessary to connect and print from the latest Android, iOS and Windows mobile devices, demonstrating our preparedness for commercial applications to adopt consumer grade devices
  • Wide selection of Accessories - Batteries, Shoulder Strap and Multiple Vehicle Adapters

Active Vs. Passive DWDM Solutions

An active approach to your growing optical transport network & connectivity needs.

Building dark fibre network infrastructure using WDM technology used to be considered a complex challenge that only carriers have the means to implement.

This has led many enterprises to build passive networks, which are inferior in quality and ultimately limit their future growth.

Why are passive solutions considered inferior? And what makes active solutions great?

Read more about these two solutions, and how PacketLight fits into all this.
