Benq XL2720T – a very large monitor for extreme gamers

By

Benq has developed a loyal cult following amongst hard core gamers for its fast refresh and more recently an uncanny ability to reproduce ‘dark scenes” with its Black eQualizer colour engine. The new 27" XL2720T is serious dude.

We all know that in the darkness lurks the enemy and Black eQualiser may just give a gamer the edge in spotting the bad guys.

It is also one of the first monitors to have a hand held remote S Switch control to set pre-set display settings for up to three different modes or games (or work or entertainment). It saves time and effort in not having to negotiate on-screen menus using those small push buttons characteristic of most monitors.

Gaming experts from Counter-Strike also provided down loadable presets that take advantage of different scaling from 4:3 to 16:9 or 10 and screen sizes from 17 to 27” – all in the pursuit of the best game experience.

Tech specifications include:

Panel: 27” 16:9, 1920x1080, 120Hz, 160/170 degree viewing angle, TN panel
Brightness: 350 cd/m2
1ms GtG response time
Nvidia 3D vision 2 compatibility
2 x HDMI, D-Sub, DVI-DL and DP inputs.
USB – 1 upstream, 4 downstream
HDCP compatible
27 watt power consumption (reducing to .5W energy saving)
Height and angle and tilt adjustment (horizontal to vertical) including lie flat table mode
Carry handle

Benq has been selected as the official global Tournament monitor for the Intel Extreme Masters.

RRP is $599 and its available to now from retailers or on-line .

Active Vs. Passive DWDM Solutions

An active approach to your growing optical transport network & connectivity needs.

Building dark fibre network infrastructure using WDM technology used to be considered a complex challenge that only carriers have the means to implement.

This has led many enterprises to build passive networks, which are inferior in quality and ultimately limit their future growth.

Why are passive solutions considered inferior? And what makes active solutions great?

Read more about these two solutions, and how PacketLight fits into all this.
