Picpal claims world first ‘photo collage chat app’

Are selfies just so 2010-2015? Is 2016 onwards the era of the real-time selfie-collage with friends? Picpal thinks so!

Picpal. It’s a new app whose creators say: “If you thought a selfie was just a selfie, then maybe it’s time you opened your mind and checked out Picpal - the world’s first photo collage chat app.”

Picpal says it is ‘the first app of its kind to bring people together through in-the-moment selfie collages - wherever you are in the world, and whatever you are doing…making social media sharing all about us, rather than me.’

So, what does Picpal do that’s different?

Well, its creators say that it takes ‘the visual excitement of Instagram, and combines it with the instant connections of Snapchat,’ making Picpal easy to use.

What you to do is:

  1. Download the Picpal app – it’s free from the App store
  2. Invite up to three Picpal friends
  3. Take your photo – while they take theirs
  4. Watch your real-time moments become a Picpal collage. Share and comment
  5. Update your selfies whenever you want – it’s as simple as that!

As your life changes, so can your Picpal collage, as it ‘allows users to chat through pictures and share what’s going on in their lives – in real time.’

We’re told that, regardless of the distance, ‘up to four friends can share moments and take social media interactions to a whole new level.’

Connecting friends and family, in real-time, no matter where you are, Picpal can also be customised by adding unique filters or text.

Created by Myndbee, which was founded by serial tech entrepreneurs Mahesh Rajagopalan and Rajesh Srivathsa, Picpal was born after both were working on their first chap app and realised ‘there was something missing in their connections on social media’ with friends and family, which led to Picpal’s creation.

More below, please read on!

Co-Founder Mahesh Rajagopalan explained: “We used all the usual ways to stay in touch but found that it was all about each person sending their moments separately. There was no collective shared selfies or moments captured and shared within a single frame.

“There was no way to express what we were doing at this point in time, and with that the seed for Picpal was sown. Picpal is the first app where the content itself is socially created and shown in a single frame, and that is exciting.”

Picpal is available to download for free on both iOS and Android devices.
