Sage has developed the solution locally, and says HandiTax Cloud will help Australian accounting practices quickly and accurately create, lodge and track IAS, BAS, and tax returns for individuals, companies, partnerships, SMSF’s and Trusts.
“Purpose-built for use in the cloud, this solution provides customers with real time data which can be accessed from almost anywhere at any time, via a browser,” Sage says.
“The accounting industry has rightly been focusing on the shift towards advisory services, but tax is not dead. In fact, tax and compliance are often the starting point for generating further value added advisory services for practices,” said Michael Farrell, director, Accountants, Sage Software Australia.
According to Farrell, cloud-based products are helping accountants to be better connected with their customers and partners and, this in turn, “drives more productive businesses and more informed decision making”.
Sage cites IBIS research showing that tax compliance is a thriving industry with more than 33,800 businesses providing accounting and tax services in Australia, with these services representing around 22% ($4.3 billion revenue) of all accounting services.
